Today we celebrate Jerome Lester Horwitz better known as Curly Howard best known as one of the Three Stooges.  Curly was born on this date in 1903 in Brooklyn NY.  He died at age 48 from a cerebral hemorrhage.  

Did you know Curly was an accomplished ball room dancer despite the fact that he had an issue with his left leg?  When he was a youngster he accidentally shot himself in the left ankle while cleaning a rifle.  This resulted in him having noticeably thinner left leg and a slight limp which he exaggerated during his days as a stooge.

While never graduating high school, during his school days he did excel as a team member of which sport?

ANOTHER OCTOBER 22nd BIRTHDAY:

One of the most prominent figures of the counterculture of the 1960's, Timothy Leary was also born on October 22nd in the year 1920.   He believed that LSD could be used in "Psychedelic Therapy" and  became the prophet of the LSD lifestyle.

ICE CREAM TRIVIA

•Hawaiian Punch was originally created to be ice cream syrup but it became more popular as a drink.

•The first version of Neapolitan ice cream was green pistachio, white vanilla, and red cherry, made to resemble the Italian flag.

•July is National Ice Cream month and is also the month which the most ice cream is sold in the United States.
