Happy 89th Birthday to Angela Lansbury! At the age of 19, the London-born actress played her first film role in Gaslight, starring Ingrid Bergman and directed by George Cukor. Bergman won an Oscar and the film received five more nominations, including one for Lansbury. She was nominated again for The Picture of Dorian Gray and the supremely creepy Manchurian Candidate. Lansbury worked steadily in film and television until she found her alter ego Jessica Fletcher in the TV series Murder, She Wrote, which ran from 1984-1996. She is still acting today, appearing most recently in the 2011 film Mr. Popper’s Penguins.
