Happy Birthday to Christopher Reeve! Born on this day in 1952, the charming, handsome Reeve was the perfect “Superman.” He hit it big with the first installment in 1978 and starred as the superhero in three subsequent Superman films.

There was this guy wearing a blue scrub hat and a yellow gown and with a Russian accent, being some insane Russian doctor... I laughed for the first time, and I knew that life was going to be okay.

~Christopher Reeve on his good friend Robin Williams, who visited Reeve in the hospital shortly after Reeve’s paralyzing accident in 1995. Reeve and Williams were best friends and roommates at the Juilliard School of Performing Arts. Williams even paid Reeve’s medical bills.
