On this date in 1935 ...
Edwin Armstrong presented his paper on "A Method of Reducing Disturbances in Radio Signaling by a System of Frequency Modulation" to the New York section of the Institute of Radio Engineers. FM Radio was born and by the early 1960's FM radio IN STEREO was the norm with the GE and Zenith systems being approved by the FCC.

•Another well known FM ~ Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania chartered in 1787. It was named after Benjamin Franklin. It merged with Marshall College in 1853. Marshall College was named after the fourth Chief Justice of the United States John Marshall.
•A famous FM actor would be Frankie Muniz best known for the family sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.
•F.M. is a Russian novel in two volumes which came out in 2006. It is a postmodern play on Dostoevwsky's Crime and Punishment. It sold 350,000 copies in Russia.
