The American Treasure Tour is a unique and wonderful destination - whether you love museums, music or just an excuse to get out of the house, we want to be your number one priority. But we recognize that, with 35,000 other wonderful museums in the nation, you would be missing out if we were the only one you ever visited. So the Treasure Tour would like to recommend a nice Plan B for you, places our staff has visited in the past that have charm of their own.
It is only fitting for us to honor a small museum in the Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. If you have ever been to the internationally acclaimed Longwood Gardens, then you have been within just a few miles of this endearing destination dedicated to preserving the legacy of a local man who never drove a car in his life, despite having lived until 1966. He attended the inaugurations of every president from Theodore Roosevelt's until Lyndon Johnson's, and inspired his students and his Boy Scouts to appreciate history. They showed their appreciation for his teachings by sending him memorable artifacts from their own travels across the world. He also befriended such local celebrities as members of the Wyeth family, and a number of their pieces are displayed in his home. So we recommend a trip to see Sanderson's home, located near the Brandywine Battlefield State Park. We're confident you will remember your time there!.
