Much to Celebrate - November 4, 2014

So many important events occurred on this day in history!

In 1842, a 33-year-old lawyer out of Springfield, Illinois named Abraham Lincoln married his 23-year-old betrothed, Mary Todd. 

Three important patents were granted on November 4th: In 1846, B.F. Palmer patented an artificial leg. In 1873, Dr. John B. Beers patented a gold crown for teeth. And in 1879, James J. Ritty patented the cash register. 

In 1922, King Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered in Egypt.

T.S. Eliot won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948.
