THIS DAY IN HISTORY

On this day in 1984, Charles M. Schulz’ beloved comic strip Peanuts became the first to appear in 2,000 newspapers. At the height of its popularity, it went on to appear in 2,600 papers. Peanuts first appeared in 1950 and the last original strip appeared on February 13, 2000, the morning after Schulz died in his sleep.
