Today we remember the one and only Phyllis Diller! She passed away on this day in 2012 at the age of 95. Diller—known for her bawdy laugh, wild style, and long cigarette holder—began her comedy career later in life, at the age of 38. She debuted at a San Francisco nightclub in 1955 and was off and running, quickly joining the talk and variety show circuit. In the 1960s, Diller appeared in movies, hosted her own TV show, and even starred on Broadway in Hello, Dolly!
