The Link Company has been in business since the early-1920's, first in the automatic music industry, then in flight simulators. Their mastery of pneumatic technology proved a great compliment to the development of the Link Trainer.

Utilizing the endless paper roll technology that many other companies abandoned by the 1920's, Link machines tended to require less maintenance. The primary disadvantage of this technology was the amount of time and knowledge required to successfully replace the rolls.
